About Us
As a Chinese immigrant living in North Amercia, I’ve realized how easy it is to slowly drift away from the language and traditions we grew up with. Many of the Chinese characters I learned as a child — taught to me by my parents and grandparents — are now rarely used in my daily life. These words carry our history, our stories, and our identity, yet over time, they started to fade.
When I became a parent, this feeling became even stronger. My two children didn’t know how to write their own Chinese names. That moment stayed with me. Our names are more than letters or characters — they represent who we are and where we come from. I didn’t want them to lose that part of their heritage.
That is why I created this website.
Panda Writing is a place for families like ours — families who want their children to reconnect with their cultural roots, to learn the characters that carry generations of meaning, and to take pride in the language they inherit.
Whether your family speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, or simply wants to pass on Chinese heritage to the next generation, I hope these worksheets and resources help your children learn, practice, and remember where they come from.
Thank you for visiting, and I hope this site becomes a small part of your family’s cultural journey..
